Sell Junk Car

The auto removal business has recently been invaded by charitable car removal organizations. As a result, it's even more difficult to figure our how best to sell a junk car. There are three basic options.

1) Donate your junk car to charity, get free car removal, and profit a few hundred dollars on next year's taxes.

2) Sell your junk car for the most cash possible; which will involve negotiating with scrap dealers, used parts suppliers, and/or a myriad of junk car vendors.

3) Recycle your car, which will require that you thoroughly investigate the firms that will ultimately dispose of your junk car.

I chose to deal with auto-rev.com because they have a record of environmental responsibility, and because they offered the most cash for the junk car I was selling. As a result, I was able to donate more to charity, get a bigger tax deduction, and was assured of green car disposal practices.

Donating a car to charity is a good instinct, and Americans donate more cars than anyone. However, as is the case with all growing trends, there is the opportunity for abuse. In the case of donated cars, it can be abuse of the environment, or abuse of donors and charities, by the old guard of the junk car business.
