Car Removal
Car removal comes in all
shapes and sizes. There are firms that advertise themselves as
car removal companies, and either charge a fee to remove what
you believe is a worthless car, or they offer to buy your "junk"
car for cash. Either way car removal companies make the vast
majority of their money reselling, breaking down for spare
parts, or scrapping the cars they get.
While some small towing companies make a small profit ferrying
cars between private owners and auto recyclers, most car removal
businesses see the towing as a cost of getting the "junk cars"
where they'll be worth the most money.
Many charities are now becoming involved in the car removal
business. They generally offer free car removal and a $500 tax
deduction for each car donation. While a few charities have
their own tow trucks and auto salvage yards, the vast majority
simply contract with local businesses in order to pick up and
dispose of old cars and trucks.
Despite the fact that people are now calling charities to donate
cars, as opposed to car removal companies to dispose of them,
the same local businesses are still pretty much handling most of
the back-end activities.
